Timeline for Planning the Bat Mitzvah


10 months  ~ Begin attending Shabbat services as a family
                 ~ Reserve the Social Hall for Saturday evening
                 ~ Prepare guest list
  9 months ~ Reserve hotel space (ballrooms and rooms for
                     out-of-town guests)
                 ~ Arrange for florist, photographer, caterer, luncheon chef
                 ~ Finalize guest list 
  8 months ~ Individual tutorials for Haftarah and Torah chanting
  6 months ~ Order invitations
                 ~ Order Tallits, dress clothing, etc.
  5 months ~ Plan for family members or friends who would like to read Torah.
  4 months ~ Meet with Bat Mitzvah Coordinator and go over details of the Oneg, Kiddush, etc.
  3 months ~ Submit information to the synagogue office
 6/8 weeks ~ Mail invitations
                 ~ Reconfirm with hotel, ballroom, etc.
                 ~ Finalize menu with caterer and luncheon chef (Cari Kahn)
                 ~ Finalize plans for music with DJ
